IMPORTANT MESSAGE – From Monday 2nd of August 2021 Whitesands Medical Practice will no longer be accepting prescription requests over the telephone.  You will be able to order repeat prescriptions via online services (you can sign up to this service by speaking to a member or Whitesands Reception Team).  You will also be able to hand in a request in writing  or prescription  reorder form to the surgery or  sign up to the pharmacy lead service CMS (ask your pharmacist about this service).

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Working closely with us in the medical centre are district nurses, health visitors, community midwives, podiatrists, a physiotherapist, a community psychiatric nurse, an occupational therapist and a specialist nurse for the community drug problem service (CDPS).  There are also some specialist clinics, including a psychiatry out-patient clinic.
