When We Are Closedtelephone_brown

This surgery, like all others in East Lothian, has transferred responsibility for emergency treatment to Lothian Health Board.  It is provided by NHS24 and Lothian Unscheduled Care Service.  In a serious emergency call 999 as normal, but otherwise NHS24 on 111 who will arrange appropriate treatment, which may be advice, an appointment at the out-of-hours centre at Roodlands Hospital or the Royal Infirmary, or a visit by a doctor, nurse or ambulance technician.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
